Laura Boardman

I was raised in Utah. I paint in my studio in Salt Lake and have a home in Torrey Utah outside of Capitol Reef Nation Park with a studio in Teasdale. As a child I often watch the sky, wondering about its vastness and where it goes? My painting focus is Urban, rural landscapes and sky, with an emphasis on color, atmosphere weather and clouds. I love creating contrast with subject matter using color choices and different shapes and sizes of canvas, in an effort to create a psychological connection between the art and viewer. I don't seek to duplicate the scene, but artfully express the emotion state, the meditative and sedcutive qualities hoping to communicate beautiful moment in time. The paradox of the changing environment, the impact pollution has on the colors in skies are difficult at times to enjoy, paint and except. I have formal education of BFA in Painting / Drawing from the University of Utah.
